Guy issue: what is he thinking? dudes only?

so this guy (imma call him joey) used to like me. We talked day and night on fb and sometimes on the phone but one day, things fell appart and he told me that he was "unsure of his feelings". Fair enough! Anyway, joey and I never talk anymore. Occasionally, we say, I dunno, pass me the screwdriver, in lifeskills or something but other than that...squat. So uh what's going on in this guys mind? Sometimes he smiles at me or whatever, he might look at me for a sec and turn around when I look back. What the heck are his feelings???? Oh my, this is frustrating :/
