Question about eating own hair?

Ok, so I eat my hair. I sit there and constantly chew on it. I mean I chew the little pieces off so they are pretty small pieces of hair. It's not like I take a whole hair and just swallow it! Do you think it can still build up into a hairball like that one girl had happen?? Or do you think that If the pieces r small they will go on through?
